HOELZLE, Jean M.- Age 88, of Metamora, and previously of Flint, departed from this life September 19, 2015. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of her Life will be held 4 PM Saturday, September 26 at Sharp Funeral Home 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 1-4 PM Saturday. Jean Hoelzle was born Mary Jean Marx on March 10, 1927, in New York City, New York, the daughter of Nina L. and Joseph A. Marx. She leaves to carry on her sense of joy and wonder of the world: four daughters: Wendy (Rick) Whitson, Nancy (Ray) Sinclair, Ellen (Kelly) Brisbin, and Kate (William) Griffin; six grandchildren, Aaron (Lisa) Whitson, Emily Conway, Jay Carrothers, Leslie (Brian) Grappin, Nicholas Brisbin, Brooke (Scott) Rutledge; six great-grandchildren, Ella, Trenton, Trevor, Vinny, Kaeto, and Titus; sister-in-law Gladys Marx of Kokomo, IN; cousin, Crystal Ruess of Lincoln, MI; many nieces and nephews; many dear friends and former students from Seven Ponds Nature Center, Camp Nahelu, Michigan Audubon Society, and Oakdale Regional Center. It is our honor to carry on her love and appreciation of the natural world, creativity and artistry, spirituality, solace, independence, reading and learning, beauty everywhere, home cooked meals, family and friends, and long walks. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Edwin J. "Bud" Marx.
