Jean Carpenter

CARPENTER, Jean Christine - Age 73, of Flint Township formerly of Fenton, died Sunday, April 1, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Pastor Mark Cox officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Jean was born May 4, 1944, in Flint, the daughter of Leo B. and Marie (Beedy) Hopkins. She married Avery E. Carpenter March 1, 1963, in Flint; he preceded her in death in 1989. She resided in Flint for the past 20 years. Jean worked as an assistant at the Genesee District Library and as a cashier for Ace Hardware in Grand Blanc. Surviving are: son, Robert E. and wife Terri Carpenter of Columbia, MD; daughter, Carolyn Carpenter of Flint; grandchildren, Meghan and Nathan Carpenter; siblings, Ruth Hawkins of Lennon, Richard and wife Marian Hopkins of Winona, MN, and Joyce and husband Jim Mauer of Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
