Jean Hassler Blewett, age 74, died on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at her home in Fenton, MI. Jean was born in Bronx, NY, on November 11, 1946, to Robert and Jean Hassler. She was raised on Long Island in Merrick, NY, where she was the oldest of five sisters and one brother. Following Jean’s mother’s death in 1962, her father remarried, to Virginia, whom the Hassler children knew as their mother for most of their lives. She met her husband, Richard (Dick) Blewett, while both were in the Air Force medical corps. Jean worked in the medical field, before leaving the workforce to focus on raising her family. Jean and Dick settled in Colorado where they raised their children, and later lived in Virginia, surrounded by their now adult children and grandkids. Jean’s hobbies included spoiling her grandchildren, gardening, watching British television programs, and redecorating the house in the middle of the night. In retirement, Jean and Dick moved to Fenton to enjoy life on the lake. Earlier this year, Jean and Dick celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary together. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Dick in May 2021. Jean is lovingly remembered by her son, Judson Blewett; daughter, Reagan Blewett; her grandchildren, Nicholas, Francesca, Anthony, and Samira; and her siblings, Virginia Smith, Christine Tonry, Barbara Fromm, Patricia Church, and Robert Hassler.
