Jean L. ARNESON

ARNESON, Jean L. VanValkenburg-Smith - age 83 - went to be with the Lord after a long illness, Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Gaylord. Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with Rev. Norm Oberlin officaiting. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Salvation Army. Mrs. Arneson was born October 23, 1928 in Montrose, the daughter of Warren and Blanche (McAfee) VanValkenburg. She married Kenneth Harold Arneson on September 1, 1977 in Durand and he preceded her in death on September 9, 2004. Surviving are: six children, Holly (Frank) Weaver, Rex Smith, Claudia (Alan) Pettis, Isaac Smith III, Mary (David) Bradley, Kevin (Deborah) Smith; two step children, Louetta Arneson and Liz Arneson; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: son, Charles Smith; stepson, David Arneson; brother, James VanValkenburg; sister, Ruth Hautala; niece, Lori Barclay.
