Jay Edwin BECKWITH

BECKWITH, Jay Edwin "Eddie" - age 82, of Gladwin and Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Flint, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 in Zephyrhills, FL. Services will be held 10 AM Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the National Kidney Foundation. Mr. Beckwith was born February 19, 1927 in Flint, the son of Louis E. and Gladys (Coad) Beckwith. He was a 1945 graduate of Flushing High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. "Jay-Bird" retired from Citizens Bank in 1987 after 28 years of service as a loan officer. He married Jacqueline Stevens on September 26, 2001. Left to cherish his memory are: wife, Jacqueline; three children, Susan and husband, William Morris of Milledgeville, GA, Scott Beckwith and wife, Stacey of Swartz Creek, Kimberly and husband, Mark Scofield of Swartz Creek; four grandchildren, Marlene and husband, Shawn Dressman of Germantown, MD, Whitley and Tanner Beckwith, Rachael Scofield of Swartz Creek; two great-grandchildren, Ben and Lexi Dressman; brother, Louis Beckwith and wife, Shirley; four sisters, Doris Barber, Geraldine and husband, Wayne Church, Ruth Henley, Eunice and husband, Clifford Golden. His first wife, Lois Helen Fairbanks preceded him in death in October 1978; his parents and sister, Beatrice Moore also preceded him in death.
