Janyce Elaine Brown

BROWN, Janyce Elaine (Surface)  Age 43, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, March 19, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Dale Billingsley officiating. Interment will be held at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 12-9 PM Friday and 11 AM until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Janyce Elaine Brown Memorial Fund. Janyce was born September 1, 1961 in Flint, the daughter of Robert and Helen (Widner) Surface. She married Arvid W. Brown on September 3, 1994. Janyce was a 1979 graduate of Swartz Creek High School, attended Mott Community College and Wayne State University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She taught art at Mott Community College and was a Studio Supervisor at the Flint Institute of Art. Janyce was also a graduate of the Speck Howard School of Broadcasting and had worked at Cars 108 and WSNL radio stations. Surviving are: husband, Arvid W. Brown of Swartz Creek; daughter, Helen Brown; son, Asa Brown; parents, Robert and Helen Surface; brother, Tab Surface and wife, Paula of Swartz Creek two nephews, Cody and Cade Surface; niece, Camry Surface; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
