Alex, Janis A. "Jann" - age 51, of Flint, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St., Flint. Fr. Thomas Firestone Celebrant. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-8PM Monday, and 3-8PM Tuesday, with a Rosary at 7PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will also be held 10AM Wednesday until time of Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brendan McMahan Trust Fund or to the West Flint Animal Hospital, care of Dr. Thomas Baes. Jann was born December 4, 1959, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Betty J. (Valkoun) Correll. She married Tom Alex Jr. on April 27, 1996 in Flint. Jann enjoyed being a grandmother and spending time with her family and her beloved pets. She was also a great cook, she loved going fishing and spending time outdoors. Surviving are: husband, Tom Jr.; daughter Nikki Correll (Christopher McMahan); son, Josh Alex; grandson, Brendan McMahan; brother, Michael Correll; mother-in-law, Blanche Alex; sister-in-law, Cindy(Rod)Wilson; nieces, Jennifer (Chris) White and Jessica(Mike)Mercatante; nephews, Jeff Correll and Jeff Wilson, and her special four-legged family; Zeus, Casey, Gus, Carlos, Molly, Deenie, Sam, Angel and Sydney.
