Janilea Fugate

FUGATE, Janilea, age 73, of Gaines, died April 12, 2021. Janilea was born February 8, 1948 in Elsie, MI, the daughter of Imogene (Jones, Hendley) Mack and Evert Hendley. She was a wonderful mother, nanny, sister and friend. She leaves behind, her children, son, Donald Archie Fugate of Gaines; daughter and family, Debra Jean (Fugate) and husband, David Hackett of Swartz Creek; only grandchild, Maegen Janilea Hackett. Brothers, Bill (Sherry) Hendley of Birch Run, Evert, Jr (Sue) Hendley of St. Johns; brother-in-law, Keith Hagon of Fenton, many nieces and nephews and friends. Jan had worked for the Kmart Corporation managing the Cafeteria on Miller Road in Flint, Riverside Grocery in Durand and as a loving daycare provider to many children over the years. Janilea was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Archie Fugate, her sister, Bonnie Hagon and her parents. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the: Hurley Foundation Cancer Navigation Fund PNP in honor of Janilea Fugate, One Hurley Plaza, Flint, MI  48503.
