Janice Bigelow

BIGELOW, Janice Tupper - Age 100, of Linden, died Wednesday, July 22, 2020.  At Janice's request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Linden Historical Society or to a charity of one's choice.

Janice was born December 5, 1919 in Linden, the only child of Lavern Herman and Mary Lucile (Gundry) Tupper.  She was a 1937 graduate of Linden High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University.  She married Leo James Bigelow June 11, 1942 in Los Altos, CA, when Leo was in service and he preceded her in death August 25, 1993.  Janice taught in several rural schools in Genesee County.  She was a Librarian for several years at the Linden Public Library (a job she loved).  She was a member of Linden United Methodist Church, the Linden Research Club, she served on the Linden Library Board, and was very active in the Linden Historical Society.  She also was an avid reader.

Surviving are: her son, Dr. Bruce J. Bigelow of Haslett; grandson, Julian J. Bigelow of Haslett; granddaughter, Brynn E. Sullivan of Okemos; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Tribute may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
