HEIT, Janice Sue - Age 64, of Burton. Jan went home to the Lord surrounded by family and friends July 8, 2009 after a long, hard fight with C.O.P.D. and Emphysema. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated 11AM Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 E. Bristol Rd., Burton with Father Tim MacDonald officiating. Visitation will be held 3-9PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. and from 10AM Saturday until the time of service at church. At 6:45PM Friday a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority service will be held. A wake will immediately follow at 7PM. Janice Sue Heit was born on February 19, 1945 in Kennett, Missouri. She moved to Flint in 1963. She married Bill Heit and was blessed with two loving sons, Chris and Mark. Jan and Bill's marriage did not last, but respect and admiration did. She retired from GM Truck and Bus of Flint, where she served as a loyal Committee Woman for Local 598 for many years. She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Holy Redeemer C.C.W and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Juanita Faris. She leaves behind two sons, Chris and wife Christine of Somerset, PA and Mark and wife Jennifer of Burton, MI; stepson, Robin and wife Mary of Flint; grandchildren, Heather, Connor, Raistlin, Caramon, Travis, Michaela, Krista and Steven; three godchildren, two nieces and one nephew; dear friends, Bob and Sherry Guiles who were there for her through the years as well as other countless friends. The family would like to thank Genesys Hospice, especially her nurse, Dan Odgen. In lieu of flowers, Jan wishes contributions be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church of Burton.
