GRIGGS, Janice Ann - Age 79, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11:00 Friday, November 4, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Sidney Fullwood officiating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Reverence Hospice. Janice was born March 24, 1937 in Marne, MI, the daughter of Everett and Iza (McClure) Devenport. She married Vernard Lee Griggs August 14, 1954 in Flint and he preceded her in death November 11, 2013. She had resided in Swartz Creek since 1978. Janice was a member of Buckham Galley in Flint and enjoyed attending art classes at Mott Community College. Surviving are: 4 children, Patrick (Clara) Griggs of Alabama, Jeanette Griggs of Swartz Creek, Winona (Walt Cochran) Griggs of Grand Blanc, and Shari (John) Folts of Davison; 9 grandchildren, Steven Griggs, Sarah (Jace) Holley, Alex Houchlei, Kyle (Heather) Houchlei, Rachelle Palmateer, Rochelle (Scott) Crawford, Victoria Barrette, William Folts, and Kayleigh Folts; great grandchildren, Danny Lee and Annette Houchlei; sisters, Joan Dowler of Swartz Creek and Jean Devenport of Grand Blanc; and several nieces and nephews.
