Janice M. Caswell (Horton) of Swartz Creek, age 60, passed away at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor Hospital on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date, please continue to keep her family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Janice was born in Flint on June 27, 1964, daughter of the late Clarence and Josephine Horton (Palma). She married David Caswell on September 14, 1990. Though one would never know the ongoing health concerns she faced on a regular basis as Janice always had a smile on her face and a joke to tell. Janice kept a clean house with everything in its place as she had a lot of house pride. With her Italian roots, her homemade meatballs and mostaccioli were among her family's favorite dishes. In earlier years, Janice and her family greatly looked forward to the summer months when they would take a family vacation. She was happiest spending time with her children and grandson.
Janice is survived by her husband of 34 years, David Caswell, her two children, Sara Caswell and Tyler (Samantha) Caswell; grandson, Ryot and another grandson due February 2025; her five siblings, Nancy Horton, Steven (Paula) Horton, Kathleen Horton, Pamela Horton and Susan Horton. She is further survived by many other dear family members; friends, Mary Smith (McNew) and Brian Stonestreet. Her furry companion Gracie Lou, and the late furry companions Cocoa Ann and Freddie. She is preceded in death by her in-laws Faye and Joan Caswell.
Janice's family would like to thank everyone for the kind words during this most difficult time. A very special thanks to the medical staff at University of Michigan Ann Arbor Hospital with special attention to the CCMU staff: Kayla, Val, Abi, Alyssa, Steph and Allison.
