Janice was born March 7, 1943 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Wilfred and Jane "Bonnie" (Smith) Partridge. She was a 1961 graduate of Davison High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from St. Joseph College and then her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She married Gary Fairbanks on May 1, 1965 in Davison and he preceded her in death on April 3, 2009. She married her second husband, Larry Carpenter, on March 17, 2010, on Pine Island, Florida. She retired from Genesys Hospice in 2009. She attended the Rock Church in Fenton and East Tawas Church of the Nazarene. For many years she was active with Covenant Hills Camp in Otisville where she served as the camp nurse (Nurse Jan) along with being a Girl Scout leader in Linden. She had also been active with her church's children’s ministries for several years.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Larry Carpenter; four children, Scott (Barbara) Fairbanks, Christopher (Delynn) Fairbanks, Kelly (Eric) Miller, all of Linden and Jonathan (Carrie) Fairbanks of Howell; step-children, Larry Jr. (Cheryl) Carpenter of Plymouth, Gina (Brandon) Jubar of Stafford, Virginia, and Steven (Lauren) Carpenter of Silver Spring, Maryland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Gary Fairbanks.
