Janice Cameron

CAMERON, Janice Eileen (Kerkau), age 73, of Flint, died, Saturday, August 17, 2019, at Heartland Health Care Center-Briarwood in Flint. Jan was born on May 14, 1946 in Bay City, Michigan to Elmer and Verna Kerkau. Jan lived in Flint with her husband, Thomas Cameron. Jan and Tom raised a family in Flint. Jan was a devout Christian who attended Emanuel Lutheran Church as a member for over 40 years. She very much enjoyed the fellowship with other members and was a member of the choir for several years. For many years, Jan participated in a weekly bowling league. She also sold Avon in the 1970’s throughout her neighborhood.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; three children, Shelley Schwartz, Steven Cameron and Sarah Cameron; five grandchildren, Samuel Schwartz, Lauren Schwartz, Asher Schwartz, Rachel Schwartz and Yitchak Schwartz; and two brothers, Bob (Nancy) Kerkau and Ron (Jeri) Kerkau. Janice is preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Verna Kerkau and son-in-law, Drew Schwartz.

Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 6380 Beecher Road, Flint. Pastor Jeffrey Schmidt will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held 4PM- 8PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint and 10AM until time of service on Wednesday at the church.
