BARNEY, Janice May - age 79, of Durand, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Hospice House of Shiawassee County. Services will be held 12:30 PM Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church, 9252 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Rev. Fr. Gene Geromel, SSC officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Janice May Barney Memorial fund or the Hospice House of Shiawassee County. Mrs. Barney was born November 7, 1937 in Durand, the daughter of Clare and Rita (Rooney) Jewell. She is survived by: two sons, John, Jr. (Patricia) Barney and Matthew (Colleen) Barney; grandchildren, Brooke, Noah and Mason; two brothers, Clare Jewell, Jr. and John Jewell. She was preceded in death by: her husband, John E. Barney, Sr. on August 3, 2016. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
