Janet L. Voorhies

Voorhies, Janet Lorraine (Shaw) - Age 63 of Owosso died Monday, June 5, 2006 at her summer residence at the Shoreline Condominiums. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday, June 8, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek with Rev. Paul Brashaw officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6-9 PM, and Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-9. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Foundation. Janet was born October 15, 1942 in Flint, the daughter of Guy Thomas Shaw and Margaret Eva Pearl Grams. She married Grover Voorhies on April 26, 1980. She owned and operated Jan's Diversified out of her home and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Eagles Lodge in Owosso. She enjoyed camping, traveling, shopping, and playing shuffleboard. Surviving are: husband, Grover; 2 daughters Janice Rae VanWagner and husband William of New Lothrop, Michelle Gilbert and husband James of Mt. Morris; Son, Robert Thomas Coy  and special friend, Michelle Mathews of Clio; 5 Grandchildren, Alicia, Jessica, Chase, Ashley, and Thomas; 4 Great-grandchildren, Andrew, Samantha, Quintin, and Brady; 2 Sisters, Ruth Ann Fitzko and husband Daniel and their family of Byron and Charlene Jones and her family of Owosso.
