James E. WRIGHT

WRIGHT, James "Bill" Edward - age 83, of Florida, formerly of Flint, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 5, 2012. Services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Bill was born May 28, 1929 in Flint, the son of James Delaney and Mae (Vaughn) Wright. He married Jean Martin on June 13, 1945. Bill retired from Buick Motor Division and was a member of UAW Local 599. He had also worked at Standard Cotton for 25 years. Bill led many people to the Lord, serving as a Sunday school teacher and a Chairman of the Deacons. He had been a member of Central Baptist Church and Twin Cities Baptist Church and was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Daytona Beach. Surviving are: wife of 67 years, Jean; daughter, Lillian "Cookie" (Hugh) Willing of FL; son, Alan (Teresa) Wright of Mt. Morris; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; four nieces and four nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her son, Bill Wright; sister, Mildred Cheadle; brother, Chuck Wright. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
