James Worden

WORDEN, James Howard- Age 74, of Mt. Morris, died Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Hurley Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, May 19, 2008 at First Apostolic Church, 11650 Church St., Mt. Morris.  Pastor Joseph Carpenter officiating.  Burial immediately following at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint.  Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint from 5-8 PM Saturday and 1-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday, and at the church from 12 PM until time of service Monday.  Those desiring may make contributions to the James Howard Worden Memorial Fund.  Mr. Worden was born April 21, 1934 in Flint, the son of Alvin Earl and Eunice (Youmans) Worden.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He married Debra Ann Sheedy March 28, 1974 in Flint.  He retired in 1993 from Dupont.  He was a member and deacon at First Apostolic Church in Mt. Morris.  Surviving are: wife, Debra Ann; son, James Howard Worden, Jr. and fiancee Meridith Sams of Flint; daughter, Kiona and husband Chadd Shaull of Mt. Morris; 2 grandchildren, Jessica Worden, Kyli Shaull who had a very special relationship with her papa; sister, Ila May Gould of California; brother, Robert and wife Betty Worden of Lake Ann; special family, Edwin Goodrich of Flushing, Karla and husband Mark of Swartz Creek and their grandchildren Celeste and Kirsten and Dan and Lynn Howko of Flint.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Ernest, Leslie, Carl, Clayton and Earl Worden; sister, Isabel Gardener.  Online condolences and tributes may be posted at the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
