WOOTEN, James T. "JT" - Age 92 , of Flint, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held 12PM Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Mt. Morris Church of Christ, 1262 South Street, Mt. Morris. Elder Garfield Cooper officiating. Burial will follow Flint Memorial Park following the services. Visitation will be held 4PM to 8PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will also be help 11AM Saturday until time of service at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Mt. Morris Church of Christ. James was born on June 5, 1922 in Marmaduke, Arkansas the son of the late Frank and Frannie (Ward) Wooten. He married Mary Ellen (Dalton) Wooten in 1946, who preceded him in death in 1988 and he later married Alene Wilson, she also preceded him in death in 2007. JT loved working in his garden was famous for his corn and big juicy blackberries every year. He served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Card for 3.5 years, during WWII and retired from Consumers Energy after 30 years as a Field Supervisor. James was a loving and devoted father of son, Paul and daughter-in-law Beverly Wooten and adopted daughter Elizabeth ( Beth); loving grandfather of Anna and Tony, Michelle and James, and loving great grandfather of Hudson, Bryce, Alec and Jameson; sister Leda Phillips; many nieces and nephews and loving caregiver of his sweet dogs, Winnie and Benjie. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Iva Guthrie, Edna Jackman and brothers, Raymond, Carlous, William, and Chestley Wooten.
