WILSON, James Filmore - Age 71, of Flint, died Monday, August 28, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Bradley Lake officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the James F. Wilson Memorial Fund. James was born July 25, 1946 in Hines, WV, the son of Filmore Lawrence and Thelma Christabel (Sartain) Wilson. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army, where he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Army Commendation Medal. He had resided in Flint since 1998, coming from Holly. Surviving are: sister, Toynette Martin of Baltimore, MD; niece and caregiver, Melinda Joan Papke of Flint; and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
