WARD, James Edward - Age 77 of Fenton, died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center, Flint. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 806 Main Street, Fenton with Pastor Dean Dumbrille officiating. A luncheon will follow at Fenton V.F.W. post 3243, and burial in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy following luncheon. Visitation at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton from 7-9 PM Monday and 2-5 and 7-9 PM Tuesday, with a Memorial service at 7 PM Tuesday under the auspices of Curtis-Wolverton V.F.W. Visitation will also be 10 AM until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Trotter. James was born April 30, 1930 in Detroit, the son of George W. and Charlotte (Green) Ward. He married Viola M. Peuse on September 5, 1964 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy with service in Korea and Vietnam. He was active in the occupation force in Triest, Korea, Santa Domingo, and Vietnam. He was employed by Buick as a plumber/pipefitter where he retired in 1992 after 17 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion, Past District Commander of V.F.W, Past Post Commander of Curtis-Wolverton Post 3243, member of the COOTIES (Past seam squirrel). He is survived by his wife, Viola and children, Barbara Osborne of Kernersville, NC, James II and wife, Diane Ward of Grand Blanc, Diana Ward of Fenton, Donald and wife, Amy Ward of Trenton, Doris Johnson of Holland; brother, Norman Ward of California; sister, Rozella Hallmark of Bloomfield Hills; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Sharon McKenzie Ward; 3 sisters, Sandra Derezynski, Doris McKenzie, and Vivian Olsen; 3 brothers, William Ward, George Ward, and Paul Ward.
