James Thompson

THOMPSON, James Corwin - Age 90, of Linden, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019.  Services will be held 2 PM Wednesday, December 4 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton.  Pastor Robbie Carnes officiating.  Visitation will be 3-7 PM Tuesday, and 1 PM until the time of service Wednesday.

James was born March 6, 1929 in Flint, the son of Clark H. and Helen E. (Skidmore) Thompson.  He attended Fenton High School and then graduated from Staunton Military Academy in Staunton, VA.  James was enlisted in the U.S. Army in January of 1951 in Detroit and discharged in October of 1952  in Ft. Knox, KY, serving in the Korean War and ranking as Staff Sergeant.  He married Joyce Ann Durand on May 24, 1952 in Angola, IN.  He retired from Consumers Power in 1985 with 33 years of service. James was member of First Presbyterian Church of Fenton and the Fenton VFW Post 3243.

Surviving are: his beloved wife of 67 years, Joyce; 3 children, Marc Thompson of Waterford, Jennifer (Scott) Johnson of Flushing, Julia Frasier of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Trevor (Elizabeth) Thompson, Kristen (Christopher) Romps, Angela Johnson, Marlena Frasier; 4 great-grandchildren, Sophia, Corwin, Gisella and Xavier Thompson.
