James Warren Sterling

James Warren Sterling, age 81, of Swartz Creek, died in the morning on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. Private arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. 

Jim was born on April 11, 1943 in Royal Oak, the son of the late Joseph and Gladys (Ryan) Sterling. He graduated from Beecher High School, class of 1961. Jim and Mary Jo Bridgman were united in marriage on August 8, 1964 in Flint. He worked for over 26 years at GM Truck and Bus until his retirement. Jim enjoyed his free time by hunting, fishing, gardening and yard work. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jo Sterling; sons, Anthony (Ann) Sterling and Timothy (Barbara) Sterling; eight grandchildren, Tony (Sarah) Sterling, Stephanie (Charles) Angell, Amanda (Cory) Milbrot, Robert (Cheyenne) Tucker, Garrett Sterling, A.J. Sterling, Lizzie Sterling and Julie Sterling; three great-granddaughters, Avery Sterling, Ariella Sterling and Aurora Milbrot; and half-brother, Bill Skaggs.
