SEVICK, James Joseph - Age 74, of Fenton, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024. A celebration of Life service will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed via Jim's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Caleb Schaewe officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church, Bell Tower Fund, 16214 Linden Road, Linden, MI 48451. 

Jim was born February 19, 1950 in Flint. He was a 1968 graduate of Flint Southwestern High School; He received Bachelor's Degrees from Saginaw Valley State College and University of Michigan Flint and a Master Degree from Eastern Michigan University. He married Elinor "Ellie" Marie Flood March 7, 1981 in Flint. He had resided in Fenton since 1987 coming from Flint. Jim retired from Mt. Morris Consolidated Schools as a teacher where he also taught building trades classes; he had also been employed as a police officer for the City of Flint. He was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church where he actively volunteered. He also was a member of the Linden Sportsmen Club. He was a hockey coach for Clio High School. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling, doing yard work, playing hockey and rollerblading.

Surviving are: his wife, Ellie; brother-in-law, Michael Flood of Marysville; sisters-in-law, Bernadette (Ramesh) Shah of Texas, Shelagh (Mark) Bowman of St. Johns and Janet Flood of Fenton; he had a very special relationship with his nieces and nephews; and sister, Nora Hunt of Flint. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert James Sevick; sister, Harriette Shoemaker; brother, John Hunt; mother-in-law, June Flood; and brother-in-law, Robert Flood. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
