James Schmidt

SCHMIDT, James L. Age 87 of Grand Blanc formerly of Linden died October 5, 2015. Interment will take place at 10AM on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly. Funeral services provided by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. James was born February 11, 1928, the son of John and Matilda (White) Schmidt in Rochester. He married Beverly J. Krueger on October 27, 1951 in Saginaw. He is a veteran of the US Army having served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked as a truck driver and was active in the Teamsters. James was a member of South Mundy United Methodist Church as well as the Fenton VFW. Survived by wife Beverly, children; Debra (Roger) Robins, James E Schmidt, Mark (Elaine) Schmidt, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
