James Polasek

Polasek, James Robert - Age 59, of Grand Rapids, died February 12, 2023 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Private funeral services will be held with interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Swartz Creek. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel,  8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.

James was born November 26, 1963 in Flint, Michigan, the son of James Anthony Polasek and Evelyn (Olosky) Polasek.  He attended St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic School and graduated from Swartz Creek High School. He attended U of M, and earned his Doctorate degree form University of Detroit. He worked in school administration in Grand Rapids and as the Special Education Director in Haslett. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel. He was very much loved by his family.

Surviving are: daughter Jennifer Polasek (fiance Philip Campbell); former wife, Michelle Donaldson Polasek; mother Evelyn Polasek; brothers, John (Theresa) Polasek, Robert Polasek (fiancee, Ellen Traschenko); sisters, Kathleen Polasek, Jeannie Polasek; nephews and nieces, Pierce Polasek (fiancee Dominque Pacheco), Callista Polasek, and Annelise Polasek.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Anthony Polasek; grandparents, Jean and Martin Olosky, Anthony and Agnes Polasek. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
