James O. Phaneuf

Phaneuf, James O.- Age 75, of Flint Township, Michigan, died Thursday, October 30, 2003 at Cape Coral Hospital, Cape Coral.  Celebration of life service will be held 11AM Friday, November 7, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes; Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI.  Visitation will be held from 5-8PM Thursday and 10AM until time of service Friday at the funeral home.  Those desiring may make contributions to a charity of ones choice.  Mr. Phaneuf was born September 5, 1928 in Flint, the son of Oliver and Yvonne (Chabot) Pheneuf.  He had resided in Flint Township his entire life.  He married Mary Jean Lawrence November 12, 1949 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  He owned and operated Jim's Lawn Shop for 40 years and retired from the Flint Township Fire Department as Fire Cheif with 49 years of service.  He was former President and member of Genesee County Fire Chief's Association and also a member of Loyal order of Moose #2395 Caloosahatchee, FL and the Elks #2596.  Surviving are wife, Mary Jean; 2 children, Sandy and husband Michael Butts of Flint, David and wife Cindy Phaneuf of Swartz Creek; granddaughter, Katy and husband Chris Peckham of Fort Wayne, IN; great-grandson, Wesley Peckham.  He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Robert and Richard.  Friends may share their online condolences with the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
