James Edward PETERS

Peters, James Edward, age 80, of Swartz Creek, a man who touched many lives died on Saturday, August 14, 2010. Jim Peters operated daily on the belief that the only thing in life you can control is how much you give. His generosity was boundless. He taught his family the value of humor, kindness, integrity, honesty with family and friends, but most of all the sanctity of life. Jim was a member of the IBEW Local 948 for over fifty years. He served our country in the Navy from 1948-1952 and was in the Korean War. He loved playing golf, fishing, listening to music and playing cards with his friends. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Stella of 57 years, his sons, James Guy Peters of MI, Kirk Louis Peters of NY, Daniel Lee Peters of CO, and his devoted daughters Jennifer Peters Heineman of NM, Ann Peters Gillette of AZ. Jim is also survived by his sister Janet Franklin of CA, twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral mass will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 19, 2010 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Church, Swartz Creek. An opportunity to visit with family and friends will be from 1-8 PM on Wednesday, with the Rosary at 7PM, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice or the St. Jude Children's Hospital in James Peters name.
