James "Mike" Parker

James "Mike" Parker, age 67, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023. The Visitation will be held from 4pm-7pm on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Sharp Funeral Home - Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road in Swartz Creek. Visitation will resume the next day at 10am until the time of the Funeral Service at 12pm at Sharp Funeral Home - Miller Road Chapel. Mike will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Mike was born on June 30, 1956, to James & Shelby Parker in Haleyville, Alabama. Mike was employed with General Motors for 47 years just only retiring in 2023. He started as a forklift operator and recently operated and trained for crane lifts. Mike married Colleen Pecknyo on August 3, 1974, in Flint, Michigan. In his earlier years Mike enjoyed hunting and riding his motorcycle. He was known for being a handyman whether he was fixing cars or working on house projects.  One of his largest projects was remodeling his kitchen. In recent years Mike kept things simple and enjoyed home life and listening to music.  

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Colleen; his father, James B. Parker and two brothers, Barry (Cleah) and Larry. Mike is further survived by his relatives on his wife's side of the family and many nieces and nephews. 

Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Shelby and three brothers, Steve, Keith, and Tim.
