NIXON, James Henry -- Age 57, of Gaines, died Thursday, November 2, 2006. Funeral Services will be 2 PM Sunday, November 5 at the Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene, 7154 S. Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday, 1-4 and 6-8 PM Saturday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, and from 1 PM until the time of the funeral at the church on Sunday. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital or the Josh Gooding Memorial Fund. He was born November 19, 1948 in Detroit, the son of Carl W. and Betty R. (LaLonde) Nixon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in Vietnam, earning two Purple Hearts and other medals. He retired from G.M. V-8 Engine Plant. He married Patricia J. Woosley on January 3, 2004. Mr. Nixon raised and trained Harness Racing Horses and was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. Surviving are: three children, James H. Nixon and wife Donna of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Bradley P. Wildeman and Nicole Boyd of Swartz Creek, Ryan W. Wildeman of Swartz Creek; grandchildren, Kailee Nixon, Nathan Nixon, Brandon Nixon, Gavin B. Wildeman; mother Betty Nixon of Gladwin; brother, Kenneth Nixon and wife Tonya of Holly; three step-children, T.C. Whysall, Maura Winters, and Lindsay Whysall; two step-grandchildren, Lauren and Olivia Winters; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl.
