James Millard

MILLARD, James R. "Bob" -- Age 84 of Swartz Creek passed away September 9, 2015 at home, surrounded by his family. Bob was born May 1, 1931 in Flint, Michigan the son of the late James and Alma (Leroy) Millard and was a resident of Lewiston, MI and recently, Swartz Creek, MI. Funeral services will be held 1PM on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road., Swartz Creek with Fr. Gene Geromel officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will take place Sunday from 2-8PM, and Monday from 12PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, P.O. Box 1245 Albert Lea, MN 56007, www.ccfa.org or to St. Bartholomew's Anglican Church, Swartz Creek. Bob was a graduate of Flint Central High School and attended Michigan State University. He worked at several General Motors locations during his career and retired after 37 years of service. He served in the U.S. Marines in the Korean Conflict from 1951-1953. Bob enjoyed his years at Tee Lake in Lewiston, MI. He also enjoyed golfing with his friends and family, his pontoon boat, as well as snowmobiling and taking care of his lawn. Surviving are his wife of 43 years Helen; daughters Dawn (Chuck) Torpey, Anne Marie (Matthew) Malott, son Tim (Terri) Millard; grandchildren Zachary White (fiance Erin, daughter Kira), Austin (Mariah) Russell, Joseph and Jeffrey Malott and Casey (Vadim) Zheglov, Kara (Romain) Martin, Chad and Kylee Millard; great granddaughter Ekaterina Zheglov, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John "Jack" Millard, sister-in-law Mary Ann Millard, father and mother-in-law Nester and Alberta Coulter and also by two brothers-in-law, Robert and Daniel Coulter.
