James Melancon

MELANCON, James Duwayne "Grundy" -- Age 71, of Flint, died July 10, 2015. Funeral services will be held 1PM Thursday, July 16 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Deacon Jim Corder officiating. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Wednesday, and 11 AM - 1 PM Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to the James Melancon Memorial Fund. James was born March 21, 1944 in Flint the son of Wilfred Ramald Melancon and Esther Mae (VanCamp) Melancon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a teamster and worked as a master carpenter and then truck driver. He was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed cooking and working on his cars. Surviving are: three children, Stephanie Kaye Melancon, Stacey Lynn (Michael) Melancon-Drinkwine, Jason Paul (Jill) Melancon all of Flint; his lifetime mate Paulette (Ford) Melancon; grandchildren, David, Nicole, Tina and Jessica Wenn, Josiah and Jory Melancon, Gage Waycaster, Ethan Melancon; great-grandchildren, Ashyiah, Josiah Jr., Wayne, Nick, Makayla, Mariah, Kenny, Audriana, Aljanay; sister Betty (Robert) Mastin; nephew Kevin, Bobby; niece Dawn; great-nephew Michael Mastin; great-niece Melissa Mastin; great-great-niece Ashleigh; special friends, Kelly Jolly, Bay-Bay, Bill Bateman, Chico, Rerun and Charles Mason.
