James Mclogan

McLogan, James Christian, of Grand Blanc, Michigan died on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his home. He was 85. He was born on December 29, 1928 in Flint, Michigan. He was a graduate of Central High School, attended Junior College in Flint, Michigan State University and was stationed in Alaska during the Korean Conflict. In 1953 he married Marijoyce Knecht and they had two daughters, Laura and Lisa. They divorced in 1960. In 1962 he married Falding Bishop and they had two sons, Chris and Austin. They divorced in 1976. In 1978 he married Diane Miller and they had one son, Taggart. They divorced in 2002. James was a businessman his entire life working first in his parents' store, McLogan and Austin China Closet in Flint, MI and then opening and operating James, Inc. (also in Flint, MI and located for many years in the Capitol Theater building) from 1965 until its closure in 2002. He was a member of Rotary Club, a founding member of the University Club of Flint and member of the Flint City Club. A unique soul, Jim embodied the principles of the free spirit and lived his life to the melody and the words of, My Way. James was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Edwin, and by his two brothers, Ted and Don. He is survived by his daughters, Laura (Jerry) Karle of Flint, MI., and Lisa of Santa Cruz, CA., sons, Chris of Birmingham, MI., Austin of Otisville, MI., and Taggart (Angel) of Holly, MI., his granddaughters, Kayti and Madeline Karle and Katie and Emily McLogan, many nieces and nephew, Matt.
