James Larry McGinnis

McGinnis, James Larry - Age 80, of  Grand Blanc, died March 17, 2024. Services will be held  11 AM Thursday March 21, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM on Thursday March 21. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Camp Barakel, P.O. Box 159. James  was born September 11, 1943 in Pontiac, Michigan, the son of James C. McGinnis and Cliffie L. (McWright) McGinnis. He was a graduate of Pontiac Northern High School and attended Highland Park College and Detroit Bible College. He had resided in Grand Blanc the past 20 years coming from the Pontiac and Waterford area. He was a past member of Bethany Baptist Church. He served as a volunteer for Genesys Hospital and Camp Barakel. He loved music and model cars.
Surviving are: three children, Charles (Lenora) McGinnis of Milford, Ohio, Ruth (Scott) Tebeau of Swartz Creek, Mary (fiancée Lon Fornelli) McGinnis of Cody, Wyoming; grandchildren, Jacob, Gabriella, Samuel, Thomas, Ian, Arianna, Lincoln, Harrison, Emma, and Toby; sister Glenda Katchka of Clarkston. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Marshall Katchka, and 2 unborn grandchildren. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
