MANUTES, James John- Age 79, of Flint, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at Genesys Health Park. Â Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 7, 2008 at St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Church, 2439 South Long Lake Road, Fenton. Â Fr. Paul Jannakos officiating. Â Burial immediately following at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Â Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint from 4-8 PM Thursday, 2-8 PM Friday and at church from 10 AM until time of service Saturday. Â A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at the funeral home 6:30 PM Friday, held under the auspices of Flint Lodge #23 F. & A.M. and a Parastasis service will be held at the funeral home 7:00 PM Friday. Â Those desiring may make contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Church. Â Mr. Manutes was born August 19, 1928 in Flint, the son of John and Mary (Maniatakos) Manutes. Â He was a grad-uate of Flint Central High School and was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. Â He married Ruby Jean Evans May 8, 1950 in Angola, IN. Â Mr. Manutes had resided in Flint his entire life. Â He owned and operated the Golden Coin Bar. Â He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #2777, Durand Eagles Aerie #3851, life member of Flint Lodge #23 F. & A.M., Elf Khurafeh Shrine and the Bay City Consistory. Â Surviving are: wife, Ruby Jean; daughter, Demitra and husband Tom Pyles of Swartz Creek; 3 brothers, George Manutes of Tawas/Florida, Nick and wife Maria Manutes of Flint, Robert and wife Virginia Manutes of Charleston, SC; sister, Anna and husband Alexander Jefferies of London, Ontario, Canada; several nieces and nephews.
