LOOMIS, James Ray - Age 84, of Fenton, died Saturday, April 15, 2017. Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Wednesday; and 10-11 AM Thursday. James was born September 3, 1932 in Farmington Township, the son of James Ray and Matilda Ida (Landrie) Loomis. He married Donna Johnson on May 29, 1971. James served in the U.S. Navy for 23 years and retired as an Aviation Ordnanceman Master Chief Petty Officer. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Salinas, CA. He loved golfing, fishing, and bowling. Surviving are: his beloved wife of over 45 years, Donna; 2 children, Teresa (John) Yee of Farmington Hills and Robert Loomis of Shelby Township; 5 grandchildren, Amy, Adam, AJ, Rebecca, and Heather; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Janet Boyce; and brother, Patrick Loomis.
