James Leslie "Jim" Hoover

HOOVER, James Leslie "Jim" - Age 74, of Linden, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024.  Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed via the link on Mr. Hoover's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 4-8 PM and 1 PM until service time on Sunday. Burial will take place at a later date in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to a children's charity or school system of their choice in Jim's name.  

Jim was born May 16, 1949 in Flint, the son of Harry Leslie and Elizabeth Helen (Smith) Hoover.  He was a 1967 graduate of Linden High School.  He attended Mott Community College.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany.  He married Vickie Jane Ward November 27, 1971 and she preceded him in death June 30, 2017.  Jim had resided in Linden his entire life.  He enjoyed attending all the sporting events at Linden Community Schools, taking care of his lawn and most of all spending time with his family.  

Surviving are: his children, Christopher (Stephanie) Hoover of Grand Blanc, Karri (Ken) Kominek of Lennon and Kimberly Hoover (Joe Genore) of Flint; grandchildren, Lauryn, Caleb, Amber, Brett and Alexis; brother-in-law, Lonnie (Patti) Ward of Linden; and nieces and nephews.  

He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Ann Soto; In-laws, Jay and Bonnie Ward; and brother-in-law, Steve Ward.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
