LAKEY, James Harold  Age 87, of Fenton, died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd. (just South of Hill Rd.), Flint. The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 PM Tuesday and 9 AM until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Lakey was born December 23, 1917 in Labette, KS, the son of James Wiley and Mary Jane (Hoops) Lakey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Lakey retired from GM Fisher Body in 1975 after 38 years service. He was very involved with his church and enjoyed playing guitar, gardening and photograph. Surviving are: five children, Patricia (Estel) Williams of Rapid City, Sharon Polmanteer of Grand Blanc, Lester (Cindy) Lakey of Fenton, Robert (Sandra) Lakey of Lakeland, FL, Richard (Sonya) Lakey of Noblesville, IN; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Cecil (Lois), Glen (Kay), Don (Beulah), all of Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
