James Laberge

LaBerge, James A. "Jim" - Age 76 of Flushing, passed away peacefully at home, with his wife by his side, on January 21, 2023 after a lengthy illness.  A funeral will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Flushing United Methodist Church located at 413 E. Main Street, Flushing, Michigan 48433.  Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.  Visitation at the church will be from 10:00 AM Saturday until the time of service.  Memorial contributions in memory of James may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org) or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (ww.stjude.org)

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Ruth.   Brother, Al (Carol) LaBerge of Flint Twp,; Mother-in-law, Florence Lundy of FL; brother-in-law, Chuck (Maureen) Lundy of OR; Sisters-in-law, Pat Anderson and Meceal LaBerge.  Nieces and Nephews, Greg (Meredith) LaBerge of CA; Sherrill (Mike) Shumaker of Grand Blanc; Susan Deters of Hudsonville; Karen LaBerge of CA; Aaron Lundy of OR; Chelsea (Joe) Woods of OR; Wyatt (Kenzie) Lundy of CA; Audra Lundy of WA; Lisa (Doug) Smith of Florida and Beth Merrill of Florida.

Jim was born on August 5, 1946 in West Branch, Michigan to the late Enos Edward and Olive Mary (Streeter) LaBerge.  He grew up in Hale, Michigan and graduated from Hale High School.   He was a serious sailor and an avid water and downhill skier.  He was a reliable friend and one who would lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  Jim worked as a Sales Representative for Lange, Descent and Vermont Castings Majestic Fireplaces.  While in his 40's, Jim met the love of his life, Ruth, and together they enjoyed a happy life and many memories...especially time spent at their cottage on Long Lake.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary LaBerge and father-in-law, Frank Lundy.

Ruth would like to extend her gratitude to everyone who kept Jim and her in their thoughts, prayers, supported them with their words & deeds, but most of all; for all their love.
