James Richard KNOX

KNOX, James Richard -- Age 83, of Swartz Creek, died April 16, 2010 at Brians House Hospice in Davison. Funeral Services will be 11 AM Monday, April 19 at the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor J.D. Landis officiating. Visitation will be 1-7 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek; and visitation 10 AM until time of service Monday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Brians House (McLaren Hospice) or the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Mr. Knox was born August 19, 1926 in Dugger, IN, the son of Mack J. and Dorothy (Wheeler) Knox. He was a graduate of Owosso High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. He married Joan Leah Crowe October 18, 1947 in Juddville, MI; she preceded him in death October 5, 1998. Mr. Knox retired from GM in 1975. He was a member of the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church, and the Masonic Lodge in New Lothrop. Surviving are: three sons Richard of Swartz Creek, Kenneth and wife Sherrill of Prescott, Chris and wife Diane Clio; sister-in-law Clara Crowe of Corunna; six grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Jeremy Dick, Joseph and wife Stephanie, Jeffrey, Jeremy and wife Lisa, Kristy, and Katy Jo; four great-grandchildren, Blake and Landon Knox, Kennedy and Madison Dick.
