KING, James Daniel - Age 78, of Fenton, died Sunday, October 17, 2021. A memorial gathering will be held from 2-6 PM Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes; Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton concluding with military honor. James was born November 20, 1942 in Flint, the son of James and Olive (Lavack) King. He was a 1960 graduate of Southwestern High School in Flint. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Cheryl Ann Corey February 20, 1971 in Flint. James retired from GM Chevrolet V-8 Engine Plant after 25 years of service. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 659. He traveled with a bowling league and carried a 286 average. He loved classic car cruises, working on home projects, movie showings with the grandkids, and Menards rebates. His family always came first.
Surviving are: his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Melissa Scarberry; granddaughter, Baylee Scarberry; grandson, Logan James Scarberry; sisters, June Adams and Vivian Smith all of Fenton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jason E. King; sister, Mary Krzys. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
