James Kautman

KAUTMAN, James B. - Age 85, of Linden, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 10, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Frank Kautman and Andrew Barancik officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan or Reverence Hospice. James was born July 1, 1930 in Flint the son of Frank and Luella (Simmons) Kautman. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He married Margie Jean Bigelow March 8, 1951 in Flint and she preceded him in death May 28, 2010. He retired in 1980 from GM Truck and Bus after 30 years of service, He then owned and operated with his wife Margie, Owl's Way Ceramics in Linden for 15 years, he was currently employed by Meijer. James was a member of U.A.W. Local 598. Surviving are: children, Frank (Molly) of Davison, Dan (Jan) of Traverse City, Linda (Ray) Wood of Fenton, Jean (Dave) Gearhart of Fenton, and Luella (Robert) Sherman of Millington; grandchildren, Alecandria, James (Katie), Robert, Melissa, Aimee, Carrie (Matt), Justin (Jenna), Pam (Kyler), Bridgette, Nathan, Anthony (Krystal), Matthew (Ashlee), Crystal (Jeremy), Stephan (Ashley), Michael, Ian, and Nancy; great grandchildren, Allason, Amaya, Brandon, Emma, Tristan, Jude, Derek, Leona, Jonas, Kolton, Jayden, Everest, Easton, Liam, Madie, Darren, Gunner, and Corbin; brother, William (Irene) Kautman of Fenton; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; step father, Edward Kautman; brother, Frank Kautman; and sister, Nancy Eisenhower. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Reverence Hospice and most especially the family and friends that helped care for James.
