James Hoover

HOOVER, James Keith "Hank" - Age 78, of Grand Blanc, died February 15, 2017. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Tuesday, February 21 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly . Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, 9-10 AM Tuesday . Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. James was born March 11, 1938 in Flint the son of Rufus N. and Florence "Eloise" (Breon) Hoover. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. James married Shirley Homan on May 10, 1958 in Boalsburg, PA; she preceded him in death January 6, 2017. He retired from A.C. Spark Plug in 1996. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; and a legendary storyteller. Surviving are: three children, Michael (Debra) Hoover of Millington, Charlene (Michael) Rock of Clarkston, Edward (Judy) Hoover of Lapeer; 6 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his mother Florence Hoover of Pleasant Gap, PA; brother David (Phyllis) Hoover of Pleasant Gap, PA; several nieces and nephews. .
