James Hazell

HAZELL, James Edward - Age 86, of Linden, died Tuesday December 2, 2014. Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at St. Jude's Episcopal Church, 106 E. Elizabeth St, Fenton. Pastor Josh Hoover officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. Jude's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund. James was born February 9, 1928 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada the son of Ernest and Helen "Lanny" (McPherson) Hazell. He married Mary Ellen Smith November 19, 1954 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He retired from GM Fisher Body Ternstedt after 39 years of service. He had resided in Linden for the past 4 years coming from Fenton. James was a member and Lay Reader at St. Jude's Episcopal Church in Fenton. He played the trumpet and was a member of the Argyles and Sutherland and Stan Bernard Bands. He also had been a downhill ski racer and a member of the ski patrol. Surviving are: his wife of 60 years, Mary Ellen; 3 children, Heather Anne and husband Will Ludwig of Franklin, IN, James Malcolm Hazell of Linden, and Holly Elizabeth and husband Robert Boggs of Linden; 3 grandchildren, Ashley and Luke Boggs and Noah Ludwig.
