James Lewis Harris

HARRIS, James Lewis  Age 77, of Linden, died Sunday, May 29, 2005 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 10 AM Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Interment will be held at 2 PM Thursday, June 2, 2005 at East Lawn Cemetery, Okemos. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Tuesday and 1-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the LOOSE Senior Citizens Center. Mr. Harris was born August 2, 1927 in Six Lakes, MI, the son of Lewis and Thelma (Dopp) Harris. He has been married to Margery Nobach  for 52 years. Mr. Harris served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Holt Auto Supply as a mechanic. Surviving are: wife, Margery L.; three sons, Douglas and wife, Lori of Fenton, David of Holt, Daniel of Lansing; five grandchildren, Kimberly Lane, Kari Elg, Shannon, Ric and Ashley Harris; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Lane, Adam Elg, Stafford Harris; three brothers, Dale of Brethran, Roger and wife, Anita of Mason, Lyle and wife, Joan of Holt; two sisters, Shirley ad husband, Howard Simmons of TN, Donna VonSchmittou of Mason; several nieces and nephews.
