James Handley

Handley, James Albert -- Age 60, of Swartz Creek, died on January 13, 2020, at Sparrow Hospital, with family by his side. Visitation for James will be Friday January 17 from 6:00 until 9:00 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8183 Miller Rd.,Swartz Creek. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at St. Mary Queen of the Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. James was born on May 8, 1959, in Illinois. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Alice (Gorski) Handley. On October 3, 1981, James married the love of his life, Eileen Yomantas. Their marriage would be blessed with three children. James was a pipe fitter for General Motors for 38 years. He also loved farming with his faithful springer spaniel Jodie. James was the Scout Master for Troop 122, where both of his sons earned the rank of Eagle Scout. James was adored by his 6 grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. James leaves to cherish his memory; the love of his life Eileen; children, Christina (Charles) Campbell, James H. Handley, Michael (Jennifer) Handley; grandchildren: Arya Handley, Ellasyn Campbell, Hazleigh Campbell, Marlyse Campbell, Jaycie Campbell, and Liam Handley; siblings, Donna (Kim) Kirchoff, and John (Linda) Handley; sister in law, Sheila (Dave) Papez; many nieces, nephews; great niece, great nephew, cousins, and special aunt and uncle Dolores and Kenneth Polkow; and close friends.
