James Hancock

HANCOCK, JAMES W. - age 78, of Burton, formerly of Davisburg, died Friday, November 9, 2018. Visitation will be 1 PM until the time of the Memorial Service which will be held at 3 PM Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Road, Flint (Grand Blanc Twp). James was born October 2, 1940 in Detroit, the son of James A. and Garnet (Smiley) Hancock. He was happily married to Patricia E. Grimes for almost 55 years and they were married in Farmington. James proudly served in the US Navy. He was employed for many years as the Service Manager at Star Lincoln/Mercury in Southfield. James enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, and motorcycling. The PACE Program was a huge part of his life where he made many friends while playing cards, dancing, and just mingling. Surviving are: wife, Patricia; children, James Wayne Hancock, Thomas Allen Hancock, Rhonda Lea Odden, and Andrea Christine (Charles) Latham; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Judy Maidment and several other siblings.
