GARRETT, James Rice- Age 95, of Linden, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Â Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes; Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Â Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris were a military service will be held under the auspices of the Fenton V.F.W. Curtis-Wolverton Post #3243. Â Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2-8 PM Thursday. Â Mr. Garrett was born December 25, 1910 in Granite, OK, the son of Chester and Etta (Clem) Garrett. Â He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy; He was in the Sea Bees on the Solomon Islands. Â He married Ione Myers June 29, 1934 in Kennett, MO and she preceded him in death February 25, 2006. Â He retired from GM Chevrolet Metal Fab and was a life member of the Fenton V.F.W. Curtis-Wolverton Post #3243. Â Surviving are: Â daughter, Martha Rhyndress and husband Richard of Linden; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Rhyndress and wife Joellen of North Muskegon, Angela Ione Hudson and husband Daniel of Linden; 5 great grandchildren, Noah and Aidan Rhyndress, Garrett, Olivia and Emily Hudson; brother, Pat Garrett; sisters, Wilma Baliko and Sarah Hewitt; many nieces and nephews.
