James Rice Garrett

GARRETT, James Rice- Age 95, of Linden, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes; Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton.  Interment will follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris were a military service will be held under the auspices of the Fenton V.F.W. Kearsley St. Flint, MI 48503.  Mr. Garrett was born December 25, 1910 in Granite, OK, the son of Chester and Etta (Clem) Garrett.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy; He was in the Sea Bees on the Solomon Islands.  He married Ione Myers June 29, 1934 in Kennett, MO and she preceded him in death February 25, 2006.  He retired from GM Chevrolet Metal Fab and was a life member of the Fenton V.F.W. Curtis-Wolverton Post #3243.  Surviving are:  daughter, Martha Rhyndress and husband Richard of Linden; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Rhyndress and wife Joellen of North Muskegon, Angela Ione Hudson and husband Daniel of Linden; 5 great grandchildren, Noah and Aidan Rhyndress, Garrett, Olivia and Emily Hudson; brother, Pat Garrett; sisters, Wilma Baliko and Sarah Hewitt; many nieces and nephews.
