FRANKLIN, James J. -- Age 79 of Flint died September 7, 2015. Interment will be held 12:30PM on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly. Arrangements handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of Genesee County. James was born May 7, 1936 the son of Glen and Loretta (Hutchinson) Franklin in Flint. He married Syble J. Tomlinson on February 15, 1976 in Flint. James is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was a route supervisor for the Detroit Free Press. He sold real estate and enjoyed going to the casinos, traveling and fishing. Survived by wife Syble, children; Laurie (Ron) Battiste, Tad (Diana) Franklin, Natalie (Jeremy) Brown, Jill (Steve) Lopez, step-children; Bob Tomlinson, Peggy (John) Weltmer and Dr. Janette (Jeff) Tomlinson, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sister, Marjorie Harper and brother-in-law, Bill Murdock.
