James Dillard

DILLARD, James C. -- Age 71, of Flushing, died December 8, 2014 at University of Michigan Health Systems. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, December 12 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Thursday and 10 AM until time of service on Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. James was born October 18, 1943 in San Luis Obispo, CA. the son of Clyde and Bertha (Retzloff) Dillard. He married Janey Siegrist on March 5, 1994. James graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1961. He attended Michigan State University and graduated from Wake Forest Law School with Honors. James practiced law in Flint for 45 years. He was an avid Michigan State Football Fan, an avid golfer and loved to ski. Surviving are: wife, Janey Dillard of Flushing; 2 children, Erik (Sara) Siegrist of Hendersonville NC, Kristin (Marco) Gonzales-Vega of Dallas, TX; 3 grandchildren, Abigail and Desmond Siegrist, Maria Gonzales-Vega; mother, Bertha Dillard of Flushing; brother, Robert (Beverly) Dillard of Harrison, brother, Jack (Elaine) Dillard of Linden, brother, Don (Alberta) Dillard of Swartz Creek; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Clyde; son, Ryan Dillard. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
